But this time, we thought we’d step back and let the spotlight shine on the voices that matter most – yours. How did you first discover Scarlett & Jo?
I first came across Scarlett and Jo 3 years ago whilst looking at the Next website for a dress for my sister-in-law‘s wedding. I now own over 50 Scarlett and Jo dresses. I love the mesh dresses, but these are not suitable for winter and I would like to see more dresses in thicker fabrics other than velvet.
What stood out to you when you first browsed the collection?
I liked the fit of the dress and the fact that it is flattering across the chest and stomach. I also liked the colours and different styles and lengths available. I prefer if there were less flowery patterns and more other prints. My favourite dress is the brown leopard print one and I’ve worn this the most. I also really like the fact that the mesh dresses do not crease. The dresses are also very comfortable.
Do you feel the brand understands and embraces body diversity in its design and sizing?
Yes it does, you know what you’re getting and the sizes are consistent. The quality is amazing and just makes you feel a million dollars .
What would you tell someone who’s struggling to feel confident in their body or their clothing?
I would say that they look nice, as a compliment can go a long way to improving a person’s self-esteem and confidence.
Would you recommend this brand to others, and if so, why?
I have already recommended this brand to several people, but unfortunately they have bought the exact same dresses as me, which is not good, so I really think I should’ve kept quiet
What do you hope to see more of in the future from the fashion industry as a whole?
I would like to see more fashionable and younger outfits, particularly designer brands being available in larger sizes. Unfortunately, a lot of clothes in larger sizes are aimed at older people including Scarlett and Jo. It is also important and I feel very lacking that there are not many nice fashionable / pretty shoes for ladies with a wider foot, as many larger ladies including myself have wide feet. .
